RULES AND PLAYING CONDITIONS

The participant must enter and exit the throwing circle from the rear half. Failure to enter or exit properly will result in a foul.
The shot must be thrown with one hand.
The shot must rest close to or against the neck or chin and must not drop below the shoulder during the throw.
The throwing motion must be a pushing action, not a slinging or throwing action.
The athlete must remain within the circle during the throw.
Stepping outside the circle or touching the circle or the ground outside the circle during the throw is a foul.
The shot must land within the marked 34.92° sector. If the shot lands outside the sector lines, the attempt is considered a foul.
Only the longest valid throw by each participant during the competition is recorded. In case of a tie, the second-best throws are considered.
