RULES AND PLAYING CONDITIONS

• The throwing circle will be a diameter of 2.135 meters (7 feet).

• The landing sector is an arc of 34.92°.

• The participant must enter and exit the throwing circle from the rear half. Failure to enter or exit properly will result in a foul.

• The shot must be thrown with one hand.

• The shot must rest close to or against the neck or chin and must not drop below the shoulder during the throw.

• The throwing motion must be a pushing action, not a slinging or throwing action.

• The athlete must remain within the circle during the throw.

• Stepping outside the circle or touching the circle or the ground outside the circle during the throw is a foul.

• The shot must land within the marked 34.92° sector. If the shot lands outside the sector lines, the attempt is considered a foul.

• Only the longest valid throw by each participant during the competition is recorded. In case of a tie, the second-best throws are considered.

• Fouls

  • Stepping outside the circle before the shot lands.

  • Exceeding the time limit for the throw.

  • Incorrect throwing technique (e.g., slinging or dropping the shot).

  • Failing to start the throw from a stationary position within the circle.

  • Allowing the shot to land outside the designated sector.

• The decision of the officials is final.

• Unsportsmanlike conduct, including tampering with equipment or interfering with competitors, may result in disqualification.
